Keep your distance - Assess the animal from a safe distance so the animal does not feel threatened or feel further distress.

Avoid contact with bats - Bats can carry a range of diseases harmful to humans. Do not attempt to pick up or touch bats, and keep pets and children away.

Keep safe and secure - If you can do so safely, use a box or barier of some sort to secure the animal until a rescuer arrives.
